East African fishing industry innovates its way out of economic disaster
When she set out to do field research related to the 1997 EU ban on fish exports from East Africa, INTECH researcher Rose Kiggundu expected to document cases of failed fish processing businesses, and she did find some. Training and Capacity Building
The first two students to benefit from UNU-INTECH 's PhD internship scheme in 2003 completed their 3-month stay at the Institute in June. The UNU-INTECH PhD Internship Programme provides an opportunity for up to eight students each year, drawn mainly from developing countries, to undertake research at the Institute, supervised by the resident senior researchers. Moses Geply (Liberia) and Parameswaran Mavannoor (India) have gone back to their respective universities to complete their PhD studies. More about the UNU-INTECH Ph.D. Programme
