UNU-INTECH appoints new Director

Lynn MytelkaLynn Krieger Mytelka has completed a four and a half year term as UNU-INTECH director. Professor Mytelka oversaw the expansion of the Institute's research and policy analysis programme to provide better support to evidence-based policymaking in developing countries. She will continue to contribute to the Institute's work through her on-going research projects: Building (Bio) Pharmaceutical Innovation Systems in Developing Countries, and Urban Transportation, Pollution, Innovation and New Technology: The Question of Fuel Cells and Developing Countries.

Luc SoeteLuc Soete, a University of Maastricht professor and Director of the Maastricht Economic Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (MERIT), took over as UNU-INTECH director in January 2005. UNU-INTECH and MERIT have well established links, through their joint PhD programme on the policy and economic dimensions of technical change. Professor Soete will work at forging greater cooperation between the two Institutes.

UNU-INTECH in the News

A nine-minute television programme on the work of UNU-INTECH has been broadcast on the TV Limburg channel, covering the southern part of the country. An English language version of the programme is in production and will be available for viewing on our website shortly.

Website Restructuring

The UNU-INTECH website is undergoing extensive restructuring to reduce download times, make it easier to search for information, and make our research outputs more accessible, particularly in developing countries. This is an on-going process and we welcome your feedback.
