Abstract
The book contains a series of case studies on the current casualisation of women's labour, and documents the way in which women themselves have organised resistance to bleak aspects of flexibilisation. Covering a wide range of issues and areas, from street vendors of India, garment workers in Mexico, to homeworkers in Britain, the book narrates the way women attempt to reorganise existing forms of production and collective action, to create alternative, more human circumstances of work and daily life.
